CCNet 1.4.4 RC1

CCNet 1.4.4 RC1 is almost done, the branch has been taken, so now it is just a matter of creating the release notes. Also the plans for the 1.5 are getting more defined, and the work on merging security is speeding up. I'm planning on posting more now, since most problems are solved, and there are new techniques to document. So for the ones wanting to extend CCNet or contribute to it, stay tuned for more info. As a plus, we are now on VS2008 format, which should make it more easy for people starting to code in CCNet.

Another great step forward is that we will increase the support for Mono! We now have a real Mono Guru amoung the devs, so following releases will make CCNet work out of the box on Mono!

Concerning the 1.4.4 RC1 release, I find these points the most intresting :
  • Add Gendarme Analysis to the Build
  • Add an NDepend task
  • Validator Program is now correctly installed
  • Service/console "hot swapping" : like asp.net beiing able to copy new dll's over the running program
  • Statistics reports work Firefox V3.0
  • Finetune source control error handling (improvement on ccnet 748)
  • When viewing a large build log in dashboard, the bottom part is black.

Of course there are more new items, and the usual bugfixes. Check the release notes when they become avaiable.

Update : Release notes are created : look here

  1. Dave, the project lead, will give me release rights. So there will be more people able to do a relase which will speed things up. I already talked with Dave and asked him if I could do the 1.4.4 RC1, just to test that I have all needed rights in all parts of the release process. Keeping you posted when the release is done.
